THE MASTRO FILES: RVA STREET ART FESTIVAL – CANDID MOMENTS PHOTO ESSAY
I had the pleasure of meeting Nick Mastro at the RVA Street Art Festival. Nick was doing it all down at the Richmond floodwall, from photos to videos to time lapses. He crushed the festival and now is sharing his most candid photo essay with The Cheats Movement.
The RVA Street Art Festival played a center a part Richmond’s summer art renaissance, also labeled, “RVA’s Style Wars Summer.” Some of the best street artists from around the United States came to RVA at the invitation of famed artist and festival creator Ed Trask and co-producer Jon Baliles. Together these artists presented a live display unlike any project ever seen before in Richmond . Mastro was there from start to finish and captured some of the most candid photos of the weekend.
The more time I spent around Nick the more I understood that he “can” do it all. He is one of the best photographers I’ve seen in RVA. And he was willing to share bits of his knowledge with a rookie photographer that was a bit over his head for such an amazing festival (rookie photographer = me). Since meeting Nick, I have called him repeatedly to ask for his assistants and knowledge. Never hesitating to come out support The Cheats Movement, Nick has already shared his talents on this blog and will be instrumental in the future development of what happens on The Cheats Movement (the second contributor spoiler alert if you’ve paying attention). That is not to be overshadowed by Nick’s own company and work at MastroTime Photography. If you need photography work done – Nick can do it and do it well.
I am pleased to drop this amazing photo essay from Nick, courtesy of MastroTime Photography.
