NOW THAT’S DOPE: RICHMOND ARTIST RICHIE POPE’S DOODLE HONORED MLK ON GOOGLE

Pope

RICHMOND’S ART COMMUNITY GOT ANOTHER WIN YESTERDAY. Richmond illustrator Richie Pope’s work was featured on the most popular website in the world: Google. It was in honor of the MLK day holiday.

“I got an email from the AD at Google, saying him and other folks on the team liked my work and offered me the job late last year. I said yes and we went from there.” Pope wrote to me.

On his Facebook page yesterday he posted: “I’m finally able to share that I did today’s Google Doodle for MLK Day! A very personal, and very proud, career highlight for sure. I’m already overwhelmed by all the love and I *just* woke up to friends, strangers and notable activists praising it.Happy MLK Day, everyone. This means more than I can even describe.”

There is a great article on Richmond Magazine – here is the link. Congrats to Richie. This is just a dope move. #WESEEIT
