IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN — TEDxRVA 2016 is set for April 8, 2016. The goal is to offer a group of speakers that pulls from the home front in Richmond as well as from the national and international spheres. Personally, I always want to see a speaker line-up that is as awesome, diverse and inclusive as possible. And to that end, TEDxRVA is really making an effort to make that happen. One of the goals of this year’s TEDxRVA is to have at least 50% of the main stage speakers be recommended from the community (aka people outside of the speaker selection committee). In order to do this, the TEDxRVA team needs to hear from you.
There are a number of ways to recommend speakers (see the website) but I want to make sure YOU know about the TEDxRVA Open Mic nights (yes, I said nights – there are two). Open mics are absolutely free (FREE PEOPLE) and here are the dates and times:
February 17, 2016, Gallery 5, Doors @ 6 PM Speakers start promptly @ 7-9:30 PM
February 24, 2016, Richmond Public Library, Doors @ 6 PM Speakers start promptly @ 7-8:30 PM
There are only 20 slots at each event for speakers. These slots are first come, first served. You must sign up using our online form in order to participate. Note that each speaker can only participate in one of the nights.
PLEASE CHECK OUT THE WEBSITE AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO SIGN-UP FOR OPEN MIC NIGHT AS SPOTS ARE GOING FAST. #WESEEIT
