Recently named an Academy Award nominee, I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO, written by James Baldwin and directed by Raqul Peck is the perfect film to watch during this current climate of racial division. Education is the key to change and films like this teach a perspective that is often left without context. The film is set to be released worldwide on February 3rd.
According to Magnolia Pictures: In his new film, director Raoul Peck envisions the book James Baldwin never finished – a radical narration about race in America, using the writer’s original words. He draws upon James Baldwin’s notes on the lives and assassinations of Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr. to explore and bring a fresh and radical perspective to the current racial narrative in America.
Of course, February is Black History Month. This maybe a good film to watch with groups during this time. #WESEEIT
