At our first Cheats Movement Family Gathering on Feb 4th, we asked you to donate a small toy for our giveback to the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. It was our first attempt at giving back in this fashion and I must say, our Cheats Movement Family delivered, big time. Between the toys and the cash donations – to buy more toys – we were able to collect, buy, and donate a lot of very cool toys to the children in the pediatric hematology/oncology department.
Child Life Specialist Katie Barber is a full time member of the Children’s Hospital team. She helps the children and their families navigate the tough waters of treatment. She was able to meet us and escort our podcast team back to place the toys in the chest.
This giveback was personal to me for many reason. The most prominent being that my son has spent time at the Children’s Hospital and he has pulled toys for the exact toy chest we helped stock. The excitement that the children get from picking a new toy makes their trip that much better.
This was our first giveback of 2017 but it won’t be our last. Thank you Family for your support. #WESEEIT
