CHEATS MOVEMENT ROAD TRIP: WHAT’S GOOD WITH STRETCH AND BOBBITO LIVE IN DC

Last Friday, I was joined by my Cheats Movement Podcast cofounder Hip Hop Henry and cohost Big Rich on a road trip to see the legendary Stretch and Bobbito. They were hosting their second of three live shows for their new podcast What’s Good with Stretch and Bobbito. The show launched last July and can be found on NPR. To date, some of their on-air guests have been: Dave Chappelle, Stevie Wonder, Run the Jewels, Linda Sarsour, and more. Last Friday’s live show in DC featured world-renowned chef José Andrés.

The show was lit from the beginning thanks to a sold-out audience and a wild chef Andrés. Stretch and Kool Bob did their very best to keep the interview focused, José was not as focused but thoroughly entertaining. The show was great and will be online in the future.

As always, Bobbito was extremely gracious with his time, he kicked it with us a little before the show during the meet and greet and let me know that he has a new movie coming out soon (Rock Rubber 45s). It was our first time meeting Stretch and he was equally gracious and admitted he was a bit nervous before the show. There was no time to waste after the show for Stretch as he and his other Originals (DJ Clark Kent, D-Nice, Tony Touch, and Rich Medina) were booked in NYC that night.

Our crew ate dinner at Ben’s Next Door before the show. I recommend the Shrimp Po Boy. And thanks to the NPR Green Room and Chef Andrés, we had Domino’s Pizza for the way home. The pizza was a big part of the show (don’t ask).
