This week, I had the honor and pleasure to visit Tuckahoe Montessori elementary and present hip hop as a portion of their music month celebration. This was the first year that hip hop was included in their music month presentations. They reached to the Cheats Movement to introduce the elements of hip hop to their amazing students. Of course, we had to do this right so I enlisted an ace crew of hip hop professionals: MC Black Liquid, DJ Swerve 360, and artist Jarred Barr joined me to teach the kids, ages, 3-7, about the elements of hip hop.
There are a few B-Boy Stances – Thank you Tuckahoe Montessori
The kids were amazing. They had already read the amazing book by DJ Kook Herc “When the Beat was Born.” They all wanted to MC, DJ, draw and of course, break dance. It was a true blessing. Swerve showed the kids what a “real life” DJ looked like, Liquid crushed the freestyles with positive rhymes, there was even some surprise b-boying. #CheatsMovementfortheKids #WESEEIT

The kids couldn’t wait to hear Swerve 360 cut and Black Liquid rhyme.
Teaching the kids the back spin – the only move I got.
