It’s a sad day for our RVA hip-hop community with the news of the sudden passing of Brian Davis Sr. better known to us as The Honorable Sleaze. Like many, I’m still processing the news. When I started covering RVA hip-hop, Sleaze rocked the first hip-hop show that I ever photographed (FaceMelt Friday 2011). A little later, I asked him if he would let me “try” to shoot a music video from his album Heavenly Devilish. He was truly excited that I asked, little did he know that it was my first video ever. We had such a good time filming that video, a crazy 2-day shoot, mostly with green screen. Sleaze even co-host (along with James Dangle) the Cheats Movement’s first live event, RVA HOT SAUCE. I’ve probably shot Sleaze as much as any hip-hop artist in my portfolio. I truly don’t have the words right now. I loved those early days. Sleaze was just that dude. #RIPSleaze #WeSeeIt – Leave your comments
