ONE TIME FOR STEVE FRANCIS’S STORY ON ‘THE PLAYERS’ TRIBUNE’

S/O to one of the best websites out right now, Derek Jeter’s The Players’ Tribune. The photography is perfect. The stories are engaging. The subject matter is unique and written in first-person by the athlete (or retired athlete). It’s just an amazing site.

Every once in a while, they’ll post a story that speaks directly to me (and many other but I feel it’s just to me). Yesterday’s article, written by the one and only Steve Francis AKA Stevie Wonder AKA Stevie Franchise, is absolutely riveting. From start to finish it is a must read. Francis’s life should be a movie, for both good and bad reasons.  Francis goes from cautionary tale to a legendary success story, and back to cautionary tale. He went from selling crack in DC, with no high school diploma, to 2nd pick in the 1999 NBA draft in just 4 years.

He speaks frankly and honestly about it all on The Players’ Tribune. For full disclosure, I grew up a Duke Basketball fan (Yes, I said it – fight me). Today, I split my allegiance between Duke Basketball and my alma mater, Go Rams Go. There were only a few players in college that made me actively route for them, even in a Duke game. Some of those players were Randolph Childress, Allen Iverson, Ray Allen, Raymond Felton, Tony Delk, and Lawrence Moten (just to name a few).

In honor of the amazing story on The Players’ Tribune, I have posted this Franchise Career Mix. #WESEEIT
