TALKING BASEBALL, ART, NEGRO LEAGUES, AND EVEN HIP-HOP WITH GRAIG KREINDLER

The Cheats Movement goes one-on-one with Graig Kreindler. Graig is one of American’s leading contemporary visual artists. He focuses primarily on baseball. His award-winning work has been featured in juried shows and museums across the country.

As part of the 2020 Negro Leagues Cennintinal celebration, Graig painted approximately 240 Negro League portraits (over a four-year span). The project really endeared me to him. Not only is his work amazing — really some of the best in the world — but his willingness to set aside his dense commission list (Graig has about a five-year waitlist for commissioned work) to work on the Negro Leagues’ project highlights his passion for baseball history and uplifting important players that have long been erased or forgotten.

We also talk about his history in art, Topps baseball cards, and even a little hip-hop. It’s truly a fun conversation. Please follow Griag on all of his social media platforms: @GraigKreindler on everything. #WESEEIT
