WATCH NOAH-O DELIVER A MASTER CLASS IN THE ART OF RHYME IN THE “SURVIVOR’S GUILT” VIDEO

There is true beauty in a basic black and white video. Don’t get me wrong, color is beautiful too. But there is something about classic black and white that cuts straight to the point. The drama must be created through lighting, textures, and shadows. And it’s no easy task.

The latest video from Analog Suspects (DJ Mentos and Noah-O) used basic black and white to perfection. Using an austere garage setting, Noah-O walked in and joined the amazing Reggie Pace (of No BS Brass fame) and LA Moore on drums, to bang out a barrage of bars over his analog partner in crime DJ Mentos’ jazz-infused production.

While the video’s setting is simple, there is a lot of complexity in the way that director Jordan Gonzalez worked the framing, lighting, and texture of the video. Gonzalez made a video that is as thoughtful and substantive as Noah’s rhymes. “Survivor’s Guilt” demonstrates true mastery in both song composition and video direction. #WESEEIT
