19NINE IS A VINTAGE HOOPS COMPANY AFTER MY OWN HEART

During the holiday season, it is my pleasure to highlight brands that I love, and, I like to think, are after my own heart: 19NINE is one of those brands.

Why do I love 19NINE? To be honest, it has to do with my love for college basketball. In particular, my love for college basketball in the 80s and 90s. I absolutely loved the Big East of the 90s. For those who don’t remember (or didn’t live through it) I’m talking Iverson at Georgetown, Ray Allen at UConn, Kerry Kittles at NOVA, Poetry in Moten (Lawrence Moten) at Syracuse, Malik Sealy at St. John’s, I loved everything about Big East hoops back then, it was amazing. And don’t get me started on the ACC in the 90s: Randolph Childress, Wallace and Stackhouse, all things Duke, it was a glorious time, and 19NINE knows that time (and the ’70s and ’80s). They have released some of the best vintage apparel on the market to honor the historic legacy of college hoops.

19NINE has vintage game shorts, hoodies, tees, and they recently released practice shorts. Their product quality is amazing. A few months ago, I picked up a pair of 94-95 Red Storm shorts. I love them. I was pleasantly surprised that the shorts had pockets, a nice touch. On their website is it states: 19nine is the only manufacturer in the world of throwback college basketball game shorts. These one-of-a-kind retro game shorts are cut in modern lengths with quality fabric that delivers a true game-weight feel for the most discerning of college basketball fans. These shorts aim to capture the emotion, essence and look of our schools’ most memorable teams of the past.

I don’t know much about the origins of 19NINE. I’ve read the company is based out of Indiana, established in 2011. Aaron Loomer is listed as CEO and Cofounder. 19NINE is moving beyond just your traditional apparel company, they have a super-dope blog: H.V.S. (High Volume Shooter) and recently started a Youtube channel as well.

Make sure you check out 19NINE during this college hoops season. #WESEEIT
