I DON’T LOVE THE NIKE CORTEZ KENNY 1 DAMN BUT I UNDERSTAND

During Monday’s NCAA National Championship game between Bama and Georgia, Kendrick Lamar debuted his signature Nike Cortez Kenny 1 DAMN, the first official collaboration between Nike and TDE’s top artist. While I love that Kendrick selected the Cortez, I don’t love the actual shoe.

The sneaker design is a white leather upper with his latest album’s title, DAMN on the tongues paired with a Swoosh logo. Nike has also embroidered “DAMN” in red on the lateral side panels in place of the Swoosh logo with the Swoosh appearing only on the medial side. Finishing details include red Nike branding on the heel, a black tongue, and a white foam midsole with a hit of black.

The shoe is scheduled to be released to the public on January 26, 2018, for $100.

I’m not a fan of large letters on kicks and when it comes to the Nike Cortez, I like the swoosh to be in white with a strong colorway. The Kenny 1 falls short on design color pattern for me but I could be trippin. What do you think?
