REV. WARNOCK SET TO MAKE HISTORY AS GA’S FIRST BLACK SENATOR — THE PLAYERS OF THE WNBA HELPED MAKE IT HAPPEN

As you wake up this morning, all of the major networks and firms that call political races have declared Rev. Raphael Warnock the winner over incumbent GOP Sen. Kelly Loeffler. Democrat Jon Ossoff has a slight lead over Republican David Perdue.

Rev. Raphael Warnock will make history when he becomes Georgia’s first Black senator and the first Black Democrat to represent a southern state in the Senate.

Once sworn in, Warnock will be the 11th African American to serve in the US Senate — a group that includes former President Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

There was so much effort (and resources) that went into Warnock’s victory, from all over the nation (S/O Stacey Abrams). I have to give props to a special group of women, the WNBA, and Atlanta Dream players. Loeffler is a co-owner of the Atlanta WNBA franchise and has been consistently awful with her statements opposing Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ rights. The players of her own team took a stand and helped deliver a victory to Rev. Warnock. #WESEEIT
