WE ROLL ‘THICK’: A GATHERING OF FAMILY & FRIENDS FOR TRESSIE MCMILLAN COTTOM’S AMAZING NEW BOOK

RICHMOND, VA — The drinks flowed, the food was plentiful, and the laughter spilled onto Broad Street last Saturday night as friends and family gathered at Black Iris Social Club for the launch of THICK, the highly acclaimed second book from Tressie McMillan Cottom.

There is not a “must-read” list of 2019 that THICK is not on. The book, which will be officially released on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, is  a collection of essays on race, gender, and capitalism – all with real-time observations and delivered with the wit and humor that has made  Tressie a leading voice in the world that is “black twitter.”

The evening at Black Iris was gathering a family and friends. The night was hosted by Terryn and the event’s official photographer (responsible for the amazing cover photo of Aria and me) was Chioke.

Be sure to buy a copy of THICK this week. It will be well worth your purchase.
