#WESEEIT DAILY: 7.18.2018 – NORTH OF BROAD, ALL-TIME BINGE-WATCHING, RVA IPA CHAMP, CHEATS MOVEMENT MUSIC PICKS

Happy Wednesday Family,

Let’s get you over the hump with somethings I want your feedback on. If you’ve been following RVA news, then the North of Broad project may have run across your radar. It’s the plan to redevelop the area around the Richmond Coliseum. I don’t know much about this project right now. The talking points are economic development, creating new jobs, affordable housing, a food market, new retail and office space, a new entertainment venue, a new hotel. I’m looking forward to learning more about the project and hearing your thoughts and feedback on it as well. What do you know? Let me know. So far, the best coverage of this project has come from Mark Robinson of the RTD.

Moving On:

On the latest Cheats Movement on WRIR podcast (featuring RPS Superintendent Jason Kamras), which posted yesterday on Soundcloud and Itunes, Gigi Broadway and I talked about our most binge-worthy shows of all-time. Gigi and I both agree on HBO’s The Wire (one of the greatest shows of all-time). Gigi added Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead to her list. I added Netflix’s Last Chance U, ESPN’s 30 for 30 series, Showtime’s The Circus.

This list got us thinking: What are your favorite shows to binge watch? Anything will do. We went real classy for our podcast list but we also watch a ton of reality TV like 90 Days In, Vanderpump Rules, and other stuff like that. Let me know, favorite series to binge watch.

Moving On:

Richmond beer lovers: Final Gravity Brewing Co.’s The Doppler Effect was ranked the 12th best IPA in the nation, according to a blind taste test of 324 IPS by Paste Magazine. I haven’t been to Final Gravity yet but I guess the price just went up.

Cheats Movement Music Picks:

New music this week, let’s start with my guy Illa Styles. Illa is definitely a vet in this game and he delivers every time. He has a brand new video featuring Frank Math, Dee Rich, and Lew Gilly, called “Gully SZN”.

Gritty City Records presents “AINTMADEMYWAY”, the new visual from PT and Fan Ran. Filmed and edited by BC Music 1st. “AINTMADEMYWAY” is the first single from the forthcoming album “AIRTIGHT (EAR•TITE)”, available July 20th from Gritty City Records.

S/O to RVA Mag for putting me on to this new track by Calvin Brown called “Spin”. Jump over to RVA Mag and read more about this track.

One of my favorite MCs is Richmond’s Radio B. He went in over Questlove production on his “Quest for Freedom Freestyle”.

The good brother J. Bizz has a brand new one called “Long Way”.

That’s it for now…I have more music picks so I may add some more picks on Friday. As always, email me at TheCheatsMovement@gmail.com

Until next time #WESEEIT
