Y’ALL SLEEP: RIDE THROUGH THE “NORTH SIDE” WITH TONE REDD

Again, I’ve titled this series of previous released, slept on, visuals “Y’ALL SLEEP”, but it really should be called “I WAS SLEEP.” With so much going on and so much quality hip-hop being released, I miss more than my fair share of releases. In the “Y’ALL SLEEP” series, I go back and highlight dope videos that I missed at the time. The “North Side” video from Tone Redd was released in August of ’19, but the album #ItsToneRedd was rereleased with a new marketing campaign and live event last fall.

Tone Redd has been making positive moves with his music all over Richmond. He became more visible last year, competed and won at RVA Rap Elite, participated in a World Emcee Cypher, and even jumped into the battle arena. All of these positive moves, along with the team he has behind him (S/O Reggie, Charged Up, and everyone involved) has placed Tone Redd on a different trajectory for 2021.

Hip-hop is a funny business and timing is everything. The timing might be just right for “It’s Tone Redd.” #WESEEIT
