DEBUTING TONIGHT: DOMESTIC WARFARE EXHIBIT AT THE WELL ART GALLERY

“Domestic Warfare” is a gallery show that highlights artwork inspired by police violence on American soil. The show is curated by Rosetta of Crenius, LLC.

“From the beginnings of structured and uniformed police to the present chokehold placed on American citizens, specifically those who hold melanin and especially those who are BLACK. We explore the traumas, outrage, backlash, pain, suffering, kidnapping, beating, manipulation, and more all done by those who are sworn to ‘protect and serve’.

The goal of the exhibit is to create ongoing conversations that will catalyze change. “We aim to challenge viewers through transparency and salience. We are here to encourage and inspire others to seek and share truths.”

Crenius will have several events to spotlight “Domestic Warfare” including tonight’s opening, a closing reception, artist talk, media day, open forum, and exclusive event with local RVA community leaders and artists.

The public opening is tonight, February 5, 2021, at 6 pm in coordination with RVA First Fridays and Manchester Manifest. The exhibit will run until the 28th of February.
