THE HUSTLE SEASON IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE PODCAST – OR BAND. CHECK OUT THEIR NEW VIDEO “ALL NIGHT”

For the guys of the Hustle Season Podcast, it started with music. Frontman Kelli Strawbridge (Kings) told me that three members of the four-person band knew each other, dating back to their days at VCU (circa 2002). As with most musicians, their creative relationship grew to friendship – and then came crazy conversations about any and everything.

Reggie Pace, James Seretis, and Gabriel Santamaria, along with Strawbridge, decided to start a podcast to cover various topics. No topic is off-limits for the podcast, which mainly focuses on pop culture, current events, music, national and Richmond interest.

Fast-forward to the pandemic daze that was 2020 (and continues in 2021). The Hustle Season, who usually spend a lot of time performing live with other projects, already had a few songs completed, could finish their first project. They released Volume 1 last October on Enough Records.

Strawbridge describes their sound as very versatile. Pace and Seretis pull a little from their gamer influences, Strawbridge and Santamaria are soul and R&B fanatics, and the entire group loves punk and various underground scenes. You can hear the band’s versatility in their single “All Night.” There is definitely rock in the gumbo, some 80s Prince, some soul, an authentic retro feel for contemporary times.

The newly formed WhartonMajor directs the video. The combined talents of photographer Joey Wharton and creative Anthony Harris. Make sure you follow The Hustle Season Podcast and give Volume 1 some love. #WESEEIT
